8/17/2020 - On 27th August The Three Tenors with the guest stars Le Div4s
In spite of the delicate and difficult time, the Taormina Opera Stars Festival will also take place this year. The only event of the sixth edition, next August 27, at 21:30, at the Teatro Antico, will be the concert of "The Three Tenors", Raffaele Tassone, Paolo Spagnuolo and Delfo Paone, accompanied on the piano by the artistic director Davide Dellisanti. "We considered during the lockdown," Dellisanti says, "the opportunity to suspend the artistic activity for this year. In the end, however, it was chosen to be in some way present and give continuity to the Festival by adhering to the invitation addressed to us by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, which, in record time, has prepared a rich and varied program of performances for the summer 2020. For our event - continues Dellisanti - we were inspired by the historic concert in Rome, 1990, at the Baths of Caracalla, of which this year marks the thirty years, which saw protagonists Placido Domingo, Josè Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti. Ours wants to be a kind of tribute to an event that marked an era and its protagonists. We will do this by reproducing most of the songs included in the program of that legendary evening." Here, then, in the evocative setting of the Ancient Theatre, as then at the Caracalla Baths, the public will have the opportunity to listen and taste, melodies and eternal music pages. In the first part of the concert will be offered some of the most beautiful and well-known opera arias, taken from the masterpieces of Verdi, Puccini, Leoncavallo and Mascagni. The second part, instead, will be, dedicated to the best known songs of the Italian and Neapolitan repertoire, as well as medleys taken from the world of musical. Guest stars of the evening "LE DIV4S", already present in the 2017 and 2018 editions of the Taormina Opera Stars Festival, which will be the protagonists of a "Homage to Ennio Morricone" with a medley of songs taken from the soundtracks of famous films.
