6/4/2020 - Taormina Art starts again ...
Archived the lockdown, which has also paralyzed the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, the extraordinary commissioner Bernardo Campo now announces the new projects for this summer. "We are aware of the moment of great difficulty that the Covid has left, everywhere, bequeathed, blocking everything for several months. We are faced with the need to reprogram everything but we want to give an immediate signal and make it clear that the Foundation is there and is also operational for the immediate. The concerts of 4-5 thousand spectators have been postponed until 2021 but we want to make this summer some shows in "light" version, quality events for a niche audience and that do not need special set-ups, which can not be realized yet. We are considering proposing some events without the usual stage montage and placing one where the orchestra usually stands. This without even assembling the grandstands and identifying the space for the spectators in the cavea, with numbered stations for about a thousand spectators. I'm talking about events like opera and classical music. We want to pass on confidence and hope to the people, to show that we have not stopped and we do not pull the oars in the boat and that, above all, slowly we will be able to return to a normal life. We are planning some minimal arrangements that will bring the theater back to the originality and beauty of its ancient enjoyment
