3/2/2020 - Cold War on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March
The third film on screen in the House of Cinema on Friday, March 6th, 7th and 8th, at 4.30pm –6.30pm – 8.30pm, is Pawel Pawlikowski's COLD WAR with Joanna Kulig and Tomasz Kot. In Poland at the time of the fifties, the very young Zula was chosen to be part of a company of folk dances and songs. Between her and Wiktor, the choir director, a great love is born, but in '52, during a performance in East Berlin, he trespasses and she does not have the courage to follow him. They will meet again, in the Paris of the art scene, otherwise accompanied, still in love. But being together is impossible, because their happiness is perpetually hampered by a barrier of some kind, political or psychological. A film shot in a dazzling black and white, but above all to assign where the music is the part of the real protagonist, not so much for the preponderance that the songs and songs have with respect to the dialogues, but for the narrative value of its presence in the life of Zula and Wiktor.
