10/31/2019 - A guided tour at Casa del Cinema
A new initiative of the Foundation Taormina Arte Sicily to bring the many tourists closer to discover the exhibition "The Stars of Taormina", the fascinating path that tells the sets of Taormina from the beginning of the last century to the present. At Casa del Cinema on Friday, November 1st at 3.30 pm a guided tour will take visitors on a real journey in almost a hundred years of the history of Italian and foreign cinema through posters, posters, film and scene photos of the films shot all or part of Taormina. The materials of the forty-six films, Italian and foreign, that promoted Taormina in the world exhibited in the exhibition The Stars of Taormina curated by Ninni Panzera, organized by the Foundation Taormina Arte Sicilia, will be told starting from the period of mute, when director French Louis Mercanton directed the first film L'appel du sang in 1919, to this day. Through Michelangelo Antonioni's The Adventure (1960), Luc Besson's The Grand Bleu (1988), Roberto Benigni's The Little Devil (1988), Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather-Part III (1990), Woody Allen's Goddess of Love (1995). The exhibition is an evolution of the precedents already appreciated and was realized thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Taormina, the Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Department of the Sicilian Region, the SiciliaFilmCommission, Contemporary Senses and the project Sicily Paradise on earth. After his guide in the Film Room, he will continue the programming of the exhibition "The Sicily of the Masters of Italian Cinema" with the screening of the film "Stromboli, land of God" by Roberto Rossellini (1950) with Ingrid Bergman, Mario Vitale and Renzo Cesana, with English subtitles. Admission is 6.00 euros.
